The image on the bauble is a reversed copy of the illustration – The Ghost of Goose Bay - by renowned aviation artist Wilfred Hardy GAvA.

Hand-painted through the hole in the top with very fine brushes, and with great care and attention. Each bauble is unique.

Our gratitude goes to Wilf, who gave his kind permission for the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to reproduce his stunning image of power and grace, which we have previously displayed on other products.

The artist

Wilfred Hardy was a British artist and illustrator who, until his death in 2016, contributed many painted pages to Treasure, Look and Learn and Speed and Power magazines. He specialised in painting aircraft. For many years, until the advent of photomontages, he was responsible for the prepublicity posters and covers for RIAT and other air shows throughout the UK.
