British Army Lynx Farewell Coin
The British Army said farewell to its remaining Lynx Helicopters on Tuesday 16th January 2018 after nearly forty years of operating the type.
The Lynx has been operational with the Army since 1978 and has seen service in Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan. Various versions of the aircraft have been used during its time in service including the original AH.1, the upgraded Ah.7 and latterly the AH.9A.
This coin celebrates one of the most revered helicopters of all time. The obverse displays the Lynx surrounded by the text WESTLAND LYNX - FAREWELL 2018.
The reverse displays the Army Air Corps (AAC) cap badge.
