Special Edition - Vulcan XH558 Diamond Anniversary Coin
Available with presentation box
This Special Edition coin has been commissioned for release on 25 May, the 60th anniversary of Vulcan XH558’s very first test flight in 1960. This remarkable aircraft went on to become the first Vulcan B.Mk2 to commence RAF service on 1 July 1960.
- On the obverse of the coin is the familiar Vulcan planform in anti-flash white – the scheme XH558 would have been painted in for her first flight. The background of the aircraft displays the Union Flag within a diamond shape.
On the outer ring, ‘VULCAN XH558 DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY’ and ‘1960 - 2020’ is displayed in blue text.
- The reverse of the coin displays the text ‘Vulcan XH558 The Spirit of Great Britain’ and the iconic Vulcan shape in the anti-flash white and camouflage schemes, both of which XH558 has worn during her career. The images are strikingly displayed on a sandblasted metal background.
The coin measures 50mm (just slightly under 2 inches) in diameter and is supplied in a hard plastic capsule to safely store it away.
