RAF100 Cookbook - 100 Years | 100 countries | 100 recipes
To celebrate the centenary of the Royal Air Force, some of the world’s top chefs have teamed up with serving RAF personnel to create this truly unique cookbook. Researched, cooked, photographed and written by acting or former servicemen and servicewomen, the book tours 100 of the territories that the RAF has held a presence in since 1918, telling the amazing stories of its involvement in each region and providing a delicious, authentic local recipe that you’ll want to try at home.
This combination of incredible dishes and amazing tales will keep you reading before and after dinner. Contributions from such household names as James Martin, Tom Kerridge and Cyrus Todiwala add a dash of celebrity spice to the book.
This is the second cookbook that Squadron Leader Jon Pullen has put together. In 2009, he teamed up with Help the Heroes to produce a charity cookbook that sold more than 25,000 copies nationwide. As well as travelling the world as a full-time member of the RAF, Jon has been spending his spare time bringing together RAF personnel past and present to create all aspects of this book – from RAF Chef of the Year winner, Flight Sergeant Stu Harmer; to Flight Lieutenant Crispin Chapple, who has tirelessly collated the book’s historical content; to photographer Sergeant Nigel Green and his team, who have swapped photographing military equipment trials for shooting mouth-watering dishes for the project.
One of Britain’s most revered and appreciated institutions, the RAF will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. A percentage of sales of this cookbook will be donated to the five RAF charities that the RAF100 campaign is supporting.
