RAF100 series: Tornado GR.4

To recognise 100 years of the RAF we are offering a series of 10 coins featuring some of the most loved and iconic aircraft from the history of the Royal Air Force, up to the present day. Licensed by the Ministry of Defence, the collection includes aircraft types such as the Typhoon, Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane and of course a coin featuring the V-Force: Vulcan, Victor and Valiant.

The first coin in the RAF100 series features the Tornado GR.4. An aircraft flown by XH558 pilot, Kev Rumens, during his RAF career.

On the obverse is a fully swept Tornado GR.4 at low level in the ‘Mach Loop,’ Wales.

The reverse shows the Tornado in planform with its wings in unswept and swept configurations.

50mm in diameter and comes in a fitted black presentation box with the specially designed RAF100 anniversary logo in silver on the lid inside and out.
